Saensuk Local Rules
1. When playing with Saensuk, no drop zones are to be used on any course.

2. Stones may be removed from bunkers. These are moveable obstructions. Rule 24-1 applies.

3. Saensuk allows the use of distance measuring devices.

4. When preferred lies are in play, the ball can be marked, lifted, cleaned and placed, no more than one (1) scorecard from it's original position, not nearer the hole. Relief from an embedded/plugged ball in the rough can also be taken, with the ball dropped as near as possible to it's original position, not nearer the hole.

5. When preferred lies are NOT in play, the ball must be played as it lies. However, relief may be taken, 'through the green', if your ball is plugged/embedded, with the ball dropped as near as possible to its original position, not nearer the hole. 'Through the green' is the whole area of the course except: a) The teeing ground and putting green of the hole being played; and b) All hazards on the course.
6. Mud Ball: If a player can show their marker that they have a mud ball, on the fairway only, they are entitled to mark, lift and clean their ball, ensuring it is replaced in the same spot that it was lifted from. A mud ball is a ball with visible mud attached, NOT a speck of dust and unless this is agreed with their marker, prior to lifting the ball, the player will be penalised one stroke, as per rule 18-2.

7. As of 1st January 2017, Saensuk has adopted the recommended local rule modifying the current rules, as recommended by the R&A and USGA, relating to the “Accidental Movement of a Ball on a Putting Green". Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1 are modified as follows -

When a player’s ball lies on the putting green, there is no penalty if the ball or ball-marker is accidentally moved by the player, his partner, his opponent, or any of their caddies or equipment. The moved ball or ball-marker must be replaced as provided in Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1. This Local Rule applies only when the player’s ball or ball-marker lies on the putting green and any movement is accidental.

Note: If it is determined that a player’s ball on the putting green was moved as a result of wind, water, or some other natural cause, such as the effects of gravity, the ball must be played, as it lies, from its new location. A ball-marker moved in such circumstances is replaced.

8. With reference to the above, although Saensuk plays strictly by the rules of golf, with no exceptions, most caddies we use do not know the rules and if they make a mistake, it will not result in a penalty for the player. Please try to educate your caddie so that they know the rules.
9. At Black Mountain, when playing the 4th hole on East course: Left of the cart path is Out of Bounds

10. If a rule agreement cannot be made among the group, the player concerned should complete the hole, playing both options and the ruling will be discussed and resolved, before signing the card, at the end of the round.

11. All scorecards must be returned with the gross score for both player & marker for each
hole.
